Why I don't like Leicestershire

Because we don't have the guts to upset the status quo. Biggest Building in the East Midlands.. cancelled - red tape made it take too long and the credit crunch put an end to it.. We don't have an Arena because we don't want to upset Nottingham.. so we have to travel.. We don't Sell ourselves well enough.. focussing on Multicultural - which other cities also offer.. I go to London to see the sights - I don't care if there is a lebanese, asian, african, russian and english shop on the same street, they aren't tourist attractions.. Tourism brings revenue.. and raises the profile. The fact that we let them temporarily rename OUR airpoirt, which my Council Tax services (NW Leics), which was in OUR county, Nottingham East Midlands to make it recogniseable to foreigners is disgusting.. it was a waste of time and money... Nottingham have an airport at Tollerton, we have one at Stoughton, the East Midlands airport is in Leicestershire and near Loughborough and Derby.. Nottingham is not the centre of the universe but we are letting it become that way and I hate the fact that we don't stand up for ourselves and forget the others.. I hate the defeatist attitude we adopt as an excuse for not having any ambition, i.e. that no one will want to come to Leicester... we are beaten before we start
