“Reading what Austenfan wrote about Paddy swags shop on Charnwood street I have got lots of happy memories of that shop and many purchases there to, My Bayko building set was bought there what I was a boy, and when I was older my first transistor radio, a bike from Billy bones cycle shop and later in life also one from Twillies cycle shop on green lane rd, does anyone else remember Twillies he repaired my bike for free new brakes seat and he did it all for free for safety, and said to me when your older and buy a bike come back to me and I did.
And Santa's grotto at Lewis's I got a conductors set when I was 5 years old waiting on the staircase in a queue to go and see Santa, memories that we will never forget.
And Armyoldsweat says about the wrestling yes at Cossington street and Spence street baths, and the speedway like you have said at parker drive Skating at Granby halls the Abbey park show, go fishing down the Cut buy our kit at Tommy Wadsworth's shop that backed on to the Canal such happy days forgot about the Train spotting that cost nothing waiting all day for the same Trains to come by, sitting on the Gates at the Forest road waiting for a Train to come from Belgrave station now Sainsbury's, do you all remember the games we played with Snobs Fag packets marbles skipping with the girls Trolleys or today they are called soap carts, I remember playing down the brook building a big dam with all the rubbish what happy days, on Humber stone park with the rocking horse slide and roundabout all gone now health and safety gone mad”

“Seeing these photo's brings back memories of the City Centre when I was a child, I had no idea what vandalism had been done to our City Centre until now, it looked so much better then than now, whoever gave us the modern mess look we have now should have been shot, we don't one building left with any character, they all look like modern drab.”

“The idiots in charge of planning for Leicester have ruined the city. The majority of` cityites`
`would have liked our fantastic heritage kept and not replaced with ugly, boring looking second rate replacements.”
