“I actually don't mind them as individuals. What I really don't like is the toadying and sycophantic nature of the coverage, of the media, but also individuals. Kate turns up, an attractive and friendly woman in a nice dress - good for her - but she is no different from the hundreds of other less public women that manage the same day in day out on their own without much money and no servants/helpers. But it is reported as 'kate mania' - how embarrassing for everyone! Why try and create another Diana?”

“My question is this; how much did it cost the Leicester City Council? I am all for celebrations that bring the community together (although I am not a Royalist), but I do believe we should know the full and true cost of this half day event.”

“Leicester City Council are soon criticised when they get something wrong, but surely they deserve congratulations for the success of today's visit by the Queen, Duke of Edinburgh and the Duchess of Cambridge. Well done City Council for a well organised event. The estimated 3,000 or so people who were in the city today to see the Queen will have enjoyed their day.

Regardless of all of the assistance the Queen and the Duke will have had in enabling them to make this visit to Leicester, the fact remains that it will have been a long and tiring day for them by the time they arrived back in the comfort of their own home this evening.

The success of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee Year Tour is almost certainly already assured, as other towns and cities she is to visit will be wanting to emulate Leicester's successful start of her tour.”
