Husbands Bosworth: Plans to fill a redundant railway cutting near the village were discussed at a meeting of the parish council.

The plan by Staffordshire consultants NRS Landscapes for Croft Farm, in Leicester Road, would see the former Rugby to Market Harborough railway line cutting filled in with builder's waste and restored to agriculture and amenity use.

In a similar application two years ago the parish council and residents were concerned that access to the site was on an unrestricted section of the road and were concerned about problems with traffic entering and leaving the site.

Thurnby Lodge: Willowbrook School is saying goodbye to members of staff.

They include Pat Tebatt, who has been a cleaner for 18 years, and support officer Becca Payne.
