Great night out

I have been here twice for special occasions and have thoroughly enjoyed it both times. The atmosphere is relaxed and the staff are attentive and friendly. The food is fantastic and there is a good choice, same with wine menu. All in all a great place to come for a special meal and night out.

    Avoid

“Amateurish food (Which certainly wasn't fresh) and a distinct absence of even basic front of house skills.
    Alas such a handsome venue.
The Case is for people who don't know what good food tastes like.
My advice would be to head out of the city and visit The Berkeley Arms in Wymondham.
Alternatively, if you are in the city, The Peking in Charles Street or Shivalli in Welford Road are both consistently good. Fat Cats has come up trumps lately - especially their fish sharing platter - but would suggest that as a lunchtime destination.
The Case receives one star as a zero rating is not an option.”

    A really lovely evening out!

“I dined at The Case last Thursday evening and have to say that both my friend and I couldn't sing praises highly enough.

The staff were attentive and very helpful. I had the beef, which was a fine cut of meat cooked beautifully and accompanied by an array of well complimented flavours. It was served with a shallot puree and fondant potato, very delicious! Would highly recommend a visit here, incredible venue with a buzzing but nicely relaxed atmosphere.

Thank you for making our celebration a very special one and look forward to doing it again soon.”

    Get what you pay for...

“Fair food at a reasonable price, nothing too fancy so really enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere... Other reviewers suggest this place is upmarket, don't be put off by this, it's not at all, just a bit nicer than some chain places in Leicester... Overall it's worth a visit.”

    Dine in style

“Definitely the place to go in Leicester for something a bit special. It's good that a high-quality independent restaurant is surviving and so it should. Great for those special celebrations. Lunch menu is good too. ”

Safe option for a great night

“The Case is a great option if you're after a classy affair! The bar is smart and stylish with a good range of spirits and wine and their restaurant is really quite special. I had a wonderful duck dish which was beautiful, really tender and not at all fatty! Top marks from me!”

    Not quite there

“The food is acceptable but it is nothing special. Of course if you compare it with pub grub then it is definitely better than many pubs but I feel that it is not the comparison that this restaurant aspires to. Food aside, the service was disappointing. The service was slow. The low point was when I asked for the dessert menu and the waiter threw them onto our table from a couple of feet away. If it wishes to be considered as high-end it needs to up its game. ”

    Such a treat

“to be had here, I was more than impressed with the large selection of food on offer here and also how exstensive the wine list was. I went for the sea bass off the specials board and it was simply devine. I will be coming back here for sure. :)”
