great place

“ a group of us went here for my birthday on a saturday night , well what can i say brilliant, i had to start king prawns in a garlic butter whic were great at least they did not have there heads on and the sauce was lovely i had to mop it up with my bread (yum yum), the brie was a fresh brie and the size of a small fish deep fried in batter the chilli beef was lovely well all starters were great, then the mains were fantastic i had salmon in a homemade sauce (lovely) the drunken pork was fab and the steaks were cooked just right what lovely chips and the lady owner made sure we were all ok , then came the pudds i had hot choc fondu wow , the others had different homemade puds and all said they were very good . so many many thanks for a great night out will be back ”

Lovely meals

“I went here last Friday with my wife and we both had lovely meals. After garlic mushrooms to start, I had sirloin steak with stilton sauce for main. We couldn't resist dessert too and I went for the delicious strawberry cheesecake. We both really enjoyed the food and atmosphere, and we'll certainly be back again soon.”

FAB!

“Visited with my parents and my children (6) for Sunday lunch.

Attentive staff, nothing was too much trouble - even extra roast potatoes! Quality food - both starters and roast. Fast service, lovely unhurried, relaxed atmosphere. Returning tomorrow with the other parents for a Birthday meal.

Priced the same as a national Sunday carvery chain! BUT a far far superior product.

Perhaps consider a greater choice of drinks behind the bar?

“Well were can i start, from the moment i walked in the atmosphere was walm and welcoming. The decor is lovley and very in-keeping with the traditional beams and bar area. The menu was great with a good range to pick from, i had a steak and it was gorgeous, cooked perfectly! The staff here are very friendly as well as the owners that are very involved with the service. Overall a very good meal and will definitely be returning!”

Great ribs

“Had some lip-smackingly good ribs here whene I went for dinner recently. Thought it was a really cute restauarant - quite traditional with beams and a stone floor, next to the old pork pie shop. Overall I was impressed and would defo go back.”

Eating House

“Had a lovely Christmas eveing meal here. Food was excelent and choice and value very good.
The place has a nice friendly feel to it and the staff were very attentive and helpful whilst remaining professional.
Went for lunch with friends and was just as pleased with food! ”
