1. EVENT: Britscifi3 at National Space Centre, Exploration Drive, Leicester.
This is the third BritSciFi event which includes special guests and stars from shows including Doctor Who, Blake's 7, Red Dwarf and Torchwood. Over the two days there will be plus competitions, displays, talks, workshops and your favourite characters, this is an event for fans and families alike. During the event money will be raised for the Alzhemier's Society in memory of Gerry Anderson. When: Saturday and Sunday.

2. FAMILY: Falcons, ferrets and fairy cakes at Donington le Heath Manor House, in Coalville.
A family event with mum in mind - well why not? You can get up close and personal with a range of birds of prey and have a go at ferret racing. There's tea, cake and light lunches in the Manor House plus children's crafts for a small charge. It's a free family event. When: Sunday 11am - 4pm.
3. MUSIC: Boogie Nights at De Montfort Hall, Granville Road, Leicester.
Boogie Nights is the original West End hit 70’S musical and it's in Leicester - remixed - for just one night concert. Featuring all the hits songs with an all-star cast of 14 singers, dancers and live musicians including The Osmond Brothers (Merrill, Jimmy and Jay), West End and recording star Gareth Gates and soul singer Andy plus lots more. 4. COMEDY: Mother's Day Special at Just The Tonic, Granby Street, Leicester.
Just The Tonic is promising that Saturday show ticket-holders can bring their Mum along for free. Comedians on offer are: Tom Wrigglesworth, Ian Cognito, Tom Toal and Lloyd Griffith. When: Saturday. Doors open at 6.45pm which allow you to get in early, grab something to eat. Doors close at 7.30pm. Show starts at 8pm.

7. FILM: Andrea Bocelli at Phoenix Square, Midland Street, Leicester.
"The world's most beloved tenor singing the world's most loved songs in one of the most romantic settings on earth". It was in August last year that he hosted the concert at Piazzetta in Porto Fino and and performed a selection of famous love songs. The film includes exclusive behind the scenes interviews with Bocelli. When: Sunday at 3pm.

8. MUSIC: Thank You for the Music at Loughborough Town Hall, Market Place, Loughborough.
Abba tribute concert show Thank You for the Music! is celebrating its 20th year. The cast have entertained the nation with Lycra-tight harmonies and superb musicianship for even longer than Bjorn, Agnetha, Benny and Frida did during the 70s and 80s! When: Friday, at 8pm. Tickets £19.

The Moscow State Circus brings its latest show to Curve with the Babushkin Sekret. Inspired by the legend of The 12 Chairs, this show takes you on a journey in the company of the greatest circus performers on earth. A mammoth cast of Russia’s most talented circus artistes.

10. SPORT: Leicester City v Sheffield Wednesday at The King Power Stadium, Leicester.
City face a tough npower Championship game this weekend at home to Sheffield Wednesday who are fifth from the bottom of the league. City need to keep their promotion hopes well and truly alive with a home win. As City keeper Schmeichel says: "[To get promoted] would mean everything – to the club and to the city." When: Saturday 3pm.
