1. EVENT: Britscifi3 at National Space Centre, Exploration Drive, Leicester.

This is the third BritSciFi event which includes special guests and stars from shows including Doctor Who, Blake's 7, Red Dwarf and Torchwood. Over the two days there will be plus competitions, displays, talks, workshops and your favourite characters, this is an event for fans and families alike. During the event money will be raised for the Alzhemier's Society in memory of Gerry Anderson. When: Saturday and Sunday.

2. FAMILY: Falcons, ferrets and fairy cakes at Donington le Heath Manor House, in Coalville.

A family event with mum in mind - well why not? You can get up close and personal with a range of birds of prey and have a go at ferret racing. There's tea, cake and light lunches in the Manor House plus children's crafts for a small charge. It's a free family event. When: Sunday 11am - 4pm.

Boogie Nights is the original West End hit 70’S musical and it's in Leicester - remixed - for just one night concert. Featuring all the hits songs with an all-star cast of 14 singers, dancers and live musicians including The Osmond Brothers (Merrill, Jimmy and Jay), West End and recording star Gareth Gates and soul singer Andy plus lots more. 4. COMEDY: Mother's Day Special at Just The Tonic, Granby Street, Leicester.

Just The Tonic is promising that Saturday show ticket-holders can bring their Mum along for free. Comedians on offer are: Tom Wrigglesworth, Ian Cognito, Tom Toal and Lloyd Griffith. When: Saturday. "The world's most beloved tenor singing the world's most loved songs in one of the most romantic settings on earth". It was in August last year that he hosted the concert at Piazzetta in Porto Fino and and performed a selection of famous love songs. City face a tough npower Championship game this weekend at home to Sheffield Wednesday who are fifth from the bottom of the league.
