1. CHILDREN: Santa's Grotto at Gorse Hill City Farm, Anstey Lane, Leicester.
A very special person will be making a visit to Gorse Hill City Farm this weekend. Youngsters can visit the farm's Grotto to meet Santa and receive a small gift. There will also be a teddy tombola, stalls as well as all of the farm's animals to meet. When: Sunday 2pm to 4pm. £1.50 per child

2. FAMILY: Winter Wonderland at Leicester City's King Power Stadium, Filbert Way, Leicester.
The Winter Wonderland Weekender at Leicester City includes a giant ice rink, live reindeer, festive food and drink, snow globe, giant snowman, toboggan, rodeo reindeer ride, carousel and live brass band. Saturday will be open to fans attending the day’s npower Championship match against Barnsley. The doors will be opened to the public on Sunday.

3. SHOPPING: Late night shopping in Market Harborough town centre.
As well as later opening hours there will be a fun fair and stalls for shoppers to enjoy. When: Friday, 5.30pm to 9.30pm.
4. MORE SHOPPING: Christmas Makers’ Mart at Curve Theatre, Orton Square, Leicester.
With a theme of "glorious gifts under £30" this contemporary craft fair has extra appeal in challenging economic times. It's a celebration of locally-made contemporary art and design. There will be 24 artisans from the East Midlands selling their hand-crafted work. When: Saturday, 12pm to 8pm.

5. CHILDREN: Christmas Crafts: Let It Snow! at Newarke Houses Museum and Gardens, The Newarke, Leicester.
Head to the museum for a day of Christmas themed craft activities. A chance to make decorations to hang on the tree, follow the Christmas trail around the museum and much more at this drop-in event. Refreshments are available. When: Saturday, 11am to 3pm. Cost £2.50
And if you enjoy the crafts at Newarke Houses you can have a go at the Christmas Tree Workshop at Leicester Museum and Art Gallery in New Walk.

6. FAMILY: Family Fun Day at Phoenix Square, Midland Street, Leicester.
Children and parents are invited along by Mrs Clause and her elves who will guide you on a journey around Phoenix, which will include crafts, face painting and games. There'll be a festive lunch laid on followed by movie time with The Muppet Christmas Carol. When: Sunday, 10am to 2.30pm. Children £12.

7. MUSIC: Bootleg Beatles at De Montfort Hall, Granville Road, Leicester.
The Bootleg Beatles' career began in 1980 and their international reputation has just kept growing. From the same team that delighted audiences with Captain Corelli's Mandolin, mesmeric storyteller Mike Maran brings you a sparkling new production of the Charles Dickens seasonal favourite. 9. EVENT: Santa Fun Runs at Various venues in Leicestershire.

Loughborough: Santa Fun Run spectacle and Christmas Pudding Market, Market Place, Loughborough, 10am – 5pm. The 5k fun run starts at Loughborough University Athletics Stadium

Oadby: Brocks Hill Country Park, Oadby, Santa Fun Run to raise funds for the Mayor of Oadby and Wigston's charity. Sponsor forms available from the Oadby and Wigston Council Offices, it is £2 to enter but if you raise sponsorship entrance is free.
There will be a lucky bag and certificate for each child.
Melton: The town's Santa Fun Run is a 5km route at Melton Country Park. Runners and walkers are welcome. Registration starts 9:15am and the run/walk starts at 11am. Entry: Adults £10, Children 5-12 years £5, under 5s free
10. SPORT: Leicester Tigers v Benetton Treviso at Welford Road, Leicester.
Join the excitement and roar along Leicester Tigers as they take on Benetton Treviso in the Heineken Cup. When: Sunday, 3pm.
