Under scrutiny
Businesses in the rag trade are being targeted by the taxman, an accountancy firm has warned.
HM Revenue & Customs announced its taskforces would be looking at manufacturers, wholesalers, importers, exporters, retailers and recyclers within the fashion industry in the Midlands.
Trevor Shaw, at Grant Thornton in Leicester, said: "HMRC will send in teams to visit businesses and examine their records and tax compliance across all taxes."

“why make it public, we know that some workers are given low wages, below the legal min, in a pay off to be in the uk and sadly many are unable to make a stand as they do not understand the english lanuage and have no where to turn, they are like slaves. Meanwhile the bossess put on their books they are paying a higher wage. We see them driving very expensive cars, massive homes and we can't do anything as need work.”
