“ Rock-a-boom is a good old fashioned record shop with a great selection of CD's and vinyl - both new and used - and friendly knowledgeable staff. Traditional record shops are a dying breed, so make sure you give them a visit - you may find a hidden gem that you'd never give a second glance on the internet. ”

“Been in here to look for cd for my partner as could not find it in HMV. The staff are very friendly helpful and knowledgeable. They also sell concert tickets which is great added extra. All in all a good shop.”

“This is a good little store. The staff are very friendly and willing to help you. They offer gig tickets for sale which is a good added bonus. Offers a range of music from new to old and different styles. Good place”

“For those looking away from the mainstream for their musical thrills, this is the best little shop in the city, jam packed with musical obscurities and latest releases. The staff know their stuff, and you can get gig tickets for anything that’s going on in Leicester, which is extremely handy. Plus, with certain albums, they occasionally give away free posters and stuff too. Lovely.”

“When I first came to Leicester one of my first highlights was Rock A Boom Records, this small local Independant has a wider selection comapred to your HMV's which tend to only stock the more mainstream music. You tend to pay a little more here but what you get is knowledgable staff that will be more than happy to make reccomendations, you can pick up vinyl which many thought dies out long ago and you can pick up tickets to events throughout the Midlands.”
