On song for ladies group
Birstall: The Birstall Methodist Thursday Group Ladies welcomed the Heart of England Barbers Shop Chorus for an evening of song and raising money for their charity for Loros.
These 16 men led by the musical director Jim Pollock gave the audience at Birstall Methodist Church an evening to remember with songs from yesteryear and beyond.
A total of £470 was raised for the group's charity of this year Loros and Pat Towson thanked both the men and the audience for coming and supporting this event.

Birstall: Birstall Methodist Church Coffee Shop runs a stall for Fair Trade every Friday morning selling Fairtrade products helping the third world farmers get a fairer return.
The profit made of £107 has enabled parishioners to buy another bicycle and smoke-free stove from Christian Aid for them.
A big thank-you to all who help especially to Beryl Massey who "heads" the team of volunteers.
