Local football: Dynamo roar on at double
Dynamo booked their place in the second round w ith a 2-0 victory secured thanks to goals from Matt Rudkin and Darren Wheeler.
They were joineTd in round two by Anstey Nomads, who will be among the favourites to lift the trophy. Nom ads landed a 4-1 home win over Oadby Town Reserves.
Matt Boyles scored twice for Anstey, Scott James and Lee Connolly with the other goals.
FC Khalsa also claimed a good win in the first round. They travelled to Medbourne and returned with a 4-2 win to their names. Earl Murray, Kuldip Atwal, Curtis McCabe and Pradeep Bahriy shared out the goals.
The early exchanges in the County Cup meant that there were no games in the Senior League Premier Division, while none of the Division One pacesetters were in action, either.
FC Dynamo did move into fourth place as they cruised to a 4-1 win over Hathern. Daniel Webb, Brett Sharpe, Nick Gomez and Chris Richardson all found the target.
Evington also hit four. A double from Sukhbinder Yohal helped them to surge past strugglers Lutterworth Town 4-0.
Anstey Town were 4-2 victors at Earl Shilton Albion, Mark Brown netting a double for the visitors as they rallied from behind to bank the points.
