If you're quick, there's still time to catch a classic Neil Simon comedy, writes Lynda Smart .

Syston QT Theatre Group continues its performances of The Odd Couple, which runs until tomorrow night at the Old Chapel in the town.

Anyone familiar with the 1968 film, which starred Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau, will be in for a surprise, as this is a re-worked version for the stage, specifically written with female characters in the lead roles.

Opening tonight at the Concordia Theatre, Hinckley, are Stanley Opera who perform the new show, It's About Time.

When taking to the concert platform, the company like to expand their repertoire out from the world of classical music, and include other branches of musical theatre with a varied programme which, this time, is taking the theme, "a musical journey through life".

Performances take place until Saturday, and tickets are available on the door.

Another show opening tonight is Thanks for the Memory, an old time music hall being staged by Wycliffe Drama Group at Lutterworth Community College.

Back to the Concordia Theatre, Hinckley, Wednesday sees opening night for Broughton Astley Drama Society, who will be presenting the stage adaptation of the Jane Austen classic romance, Pride and Prejudice.
