A professor, a former prison inspector and a retired civil servant are to join a committee that investigates complaints against councillors

Professor David Bonner, a University of Leicester public law specialist, former public sector official Gordon Grimes and Anita Saigal, who was an inspector for HM Inspectorate of Prisons and has also worked for the Independent Police Complaints Commission, are set to be confirmed as independent members when Leicestershire County Council meets on Wednesday.
