Pc Nik Sirel said the attack happened near the park’s play area.

He said: “It is possible there would have been dog walkers and other people walking through the area at the time who may have seen a group of youths matching this description.

“It is also possible that you have heard about the incident and rumours of who was responsible.

“If you know anything, no matter how insignificant it may seem to you, please get in touch.”

The three attackers are white and 17 to 19. Two of them had their faces covered.

The one without his face covered has an oval-shaped slim face and distinctive dark eyebrows.

He was wearing a light grey, zip-up hooded top, a dark grey waterproof jacket over the hooded top and cream or beige trousers.
