Help wanted at woodland

Volunteers are being sought to help with restoration work at a community wood.

Friends of Holly Hayes Wood, Whitwick, will resume clearance work on Saturday, June 27.

Organiser Adam Raine said: "Our immediate focus will be to continue to remove litter.

"Once we are on top of this, we'll start on other key activities, such as re-establishing the smaller footpaths, building restricted access points to stop motorcycles entering and clearing the stream and ditches."

The working party will meet at the pond, off Hilary Crescent, at 1pm on Saturday and 9.30am on Sunday.
